And also, for the fun of it, here are a few pictures and sketches of the neighbourhoods described in the novel. I took the photos. Sketches courtesy of Robert Aubé. I see the photos as factual documentation but the sketches strike me as being more quintessentially true. Whatever truth is.
I was squinting, looking for the kitchen chair outside the depanneur... (:
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful... both the pics and (!!) the 'sketches'.
Merci!
DeleteHi Alice! The link is not the correct link, I don't think.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kerry. Link fixed.
DeleteHi Alice, Rob Clutton gave me your blog link. Great blog! This is how a blog should be; fun, creative, lots of local info and it even looks good. I am jealous. My blog has slowed down to just being a place to repost my monthly newsletter. I blame social media. I guess I could make a choice. Hope you are both well. -tim posgate www.guildwoodrecords.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim! I enjoy keeping a blog--and especially hearing that people are reading it, so I appreciate that you tell me. The blog started as an exercise of writing in first person which I don't do in fiction. As just myself, not a character. I don't know if that would work for you. It sounds a bit like dissociative identity disorder. Maybe it is?
DeleteI hope you are all keeping well.
